They seem to show up about the same time every year, devastating fields of ripening corn and sunflowers each September. I found this batch nearly covering a gravel road while taking backroads to an assignment. Don’t look up and open your mouth while passing underneath…
Had a fun shoot in Iowa last week. Kubota, a new client of mine, uses Paulsen Marketing in Sioux Falls for their creative. When Paulsen was asked who might be able to put a nice human-centric spin on Kubota’s line of new farm tractors, they kindly asked me to work on the shoot.
It was a little dicey working alongside a 25-person film crew, who was making a commercial and corporate video at the same time, but we managed. Although time was tight between sets we managed to get a nice set of pictures and Kubota was very happy with the results. Here are a few samples.
It was nice not always having tractors be the focus of the shoot…in fact, they were rarely featured prominently, if at all. This dude had some serious guns. No face? No problem! Just a dreamy farmer shot will do the trick.
